Why do you keep playing Battlefield 4?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 10:09 PM PST

I love Battlefield 4 because I love the immersion it offers.

There's just something about two superpowers throwing everything they've got against each other in the air, land and sea simultaneously that gives me goosebumps. That feeling you get when you're just some grunt trying to take a little island in the South China Sea while you're backed up by amphibious landing crafts, gunboats and helicopters while the enemy pushes you back with mounted machine guns, snipers and mortars simply cannot be replicated. What's most immersive though is the sound design. With a good headset, you can hear bullets whizzing past your ear, the desperation in your squad mates' voices as they call out enemy snipers and AT crews, and unintelligible enemy chatter as you approach the frontlines. When the announcer announces that a commander is online, you feel like you're hooked into a vast and sophisticated military communications network. When you're on the losing side and the game is about to wrap up, the music let's you know the fate if the world rests on your team, and when you lose you know your defeat has consequences. Another thing I loved about BF4 was the setting. A war involving China, Russia and US is the ultimate clash of cultures. You have China, which is an ancient culture and up and coming superpower. Russia which is a power long in decline and trying to cling to the global influence it once had. Finally you have the US, an overconfident nation being pushed to its limits. Fighting it out through the South China Sea and exotic oriental cities is one of those "only in Battlefield" moments. Gameplay-wise, I find the game pretty lacking. Vehicle balancing is horrible, I rarely see players working together as a team, and there's a lot of shitty players who just spam UCAVs and tea bag. Because of these negatives I spend more time just thinking about Battlefield than I do just playing it. But when I play BF4, I'm blown back ever time.

Tips to survive in the chopper

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:46 AM PST

Long time bf2 pilot/gunner. Was in top 100 for the chopper kills in BF2...god i miss that game. 15 years, marriage, and two kids later and i still occasionaly think about that game. I guess thats why Im here. Its not just the game but its the people I met. Over 300 ppl on xfire messanger I met while playing bf2.....all vanished over time as technology and gaming industry moved on. Or I guess I moved on.

Anyways im really enjoying bf4. Ive only put in 27 hours so far.

Flying the attack chopper wasnt quite like riding a bike but after some rounds and test range, I got really comfortable. It feels like bf2 and even smoother and easier. I can really manuver between things at full speed with ease and its quite fun.

I bought the 10 dollar air vehicle unlock to unlock the TV missiles and im curently working on getting better at that. Its funny, in BF2 we all wished tv guided missiles didnt requiere clicking, so much that people cheated with macros. Now in BF4 I honestly hate how the tv missile is and I feel like clicking at the target to turn the missile was much better.

My problem is staying alive on a loaded servers with all the things that have potential to take me out. I get taken out by apcs and tanks from across the map....its kinda odd and overwhelming. This was never a thing in BF2. It was nearly impossible, but in BF4 it seems to happen pretty regularly.

Buw anyways, whats the best setup for defense? I should have most, if not all loadouts unlocked. What are some of the best things to equip onto an attack heli.

Getting bad fps on Battlefield 4 on a 5600 xt

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 08:07 PM PST

Been playing this game for months now and it's been fine until recently as a server I usually played on was only playing at 19-20 fps, even if I lowered the settings. I tested other servers and this seems to be the same except some will run at 30-40 fps, regardless of settings again. The highest I could get was 73 on an empty server. I've looked this up and I don't get any results for this issue. Don't think it's an issue with my pc since every other game runs fine.

How do I beat attack helos in a stealth jet?

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 11:32 PM PST

Best setup for stealth jets is 25 mm and laser guided, and helos don't play the circle spin game with me like jets do. How do I beat them?

    Naval Strike Maps

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:25 PM PST

I currently want to unlock the SR338 and saw one of the requirements is x5 C4 kills in the NS maps. I'm still deciding on buying it bc I don't wanna end up buying the dlc and be unable to search for an NS Map game therefore making it impossible to unlock the gun.

So my question is: Are there plenty of games played on these maps today? Or would I be wasting my money?
