[LEAK] - According to inside sources, the next Battlefield™ title will be a survival horror game in which players team up and travel back in time to take down the giant amputee cricket bat lady. DICE hope it will bring back the classic Battlefield™ experience.

Robots have never made a shooter more "fun"

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:42 AM PDT

I can get drones since they have been used in modern warfare extensively but robots ? When was shooting a robot either used in a real conflict OR added to the gameplay

In fact we a closer in tech to 2007 cod:MW than whatever they are planning to release

Black ops 2 level of futurism wasn't at all what I expected from the next battlefield title

    Clan stacking definition?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:29 AM PDT

I have a serious question for Reddit even though asking a serious question on Reddit is probably akin to asking a hooker for dating advice but, here it goes.

The platoon I am general of on PSN gets called clan stackers quite often and this bewilders me to some degree. The platoon has lots of active players and has been around since the spring update. That very second people were kicked off for the update it was created. It has morphed and grown and remained the most successful platoon on PSN US. And I use 'successful' by definition of activity and by that definition I mean player base. Active player base.

Which circles me around to the posts title. What is clan stacking?

If a player signs on and loads up BF1 eventually someone else in the platoon will see and join on him and this repeats with numerous people playing. We almost always have someone online (which is why we have remainder successful and active unlike 90% of the platoons which died a slow death during BFV).

So, if my guys play together out of fun, while they belong to a platoon that has active players making playing with friends attractive idea, when is it clan stacking? All too often we are split on different sides and sometimes we have to play 4-5 games before we can get on the other side (if we even want to play with, often we prefer us against our self's)

So what is stacking? Is it a deliberate method of putting your platoon on one side to get the win? Is it using a bat signal to call platoon mates into server 12345578 to battle X people? Because we don't do that. That's dumb. We just play and a lot of us just play so there will almost always be a lot of us on.

For those that think we are a clan stacking platoon? It's not intentional. We just have a large base of players and one of the reasons why we get multiple applications to join weekly (which we rarely accept new people).

This is to long already but I am curious what is other people definition of clan stacking.

    The platoon btw is SEXY.

There is no way BF21 won't be controversial and piss off a lot of players

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:11 AM PDT

Battlefield has had a decade long identity crisis, the community has been split so many times that you can't really say "the community".

DICE should have seen this coming, I'm sure a lot of the devs did, but they just had to tweak the main series to cater to the masses and ultimately ruined any chance of having one single big community.

Battlefield 3 is fundamentally different from Battlefield 2, and BF1 is fundamentally different from Battlefield 4.

What they tried to do with BFV was merge all games together into a freak of nature that I'm amazed still has players. There's just no way they can recover from this past decade in a single game, it's going to be controversial and it's going to once again split the community.

The only way I see even a remote chance of it not being a complete fail is if they pull a Master Chief Collection, make a hub of all Battlefield games and split the community but still keep it in the same "game", and then any future release after that would have to be parallel releases with different spinoff titles for every group.
