Why does DICE refuse to implement anti-cheat?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:42 PM PST

Why does DICE refuse to implement anti-cheat? All their multiplayer games are plagued by hackers and it seems like they literally don't care.
Like what the fuck, just use EAC or PunkBuster or something, goddamn.
Battlefield 1, V, and even Battlefront 2, all of them have NO anti-cheat measures. What the fuck is their problem? It's not like it's an EA issue, Respawn Games titles have anti-cheat integration.

Like, they don't even pay attention to reports of hackers in their games. You can record video proof and give it to them, report their accounts, whatever, and DICE will do nothing. Hackers that notoriously cheat on Battlefront 2, BF1 and BFV for years now are still playing and hacking regularly and blatantly with no recourse. What's up with that? The famous recovery of Battlefront 2 by the awesome community team had one hole in it: They NEVER acknowledged the hacking issue.

Loved Battlefront 2, still do, but what made me ultimately uninstall it is the constant plague of famous hackers that DICE does nothing about. I'm loving Battlefield 1 still, but whenever a hacker pops up, it just ruins it. I was thinking about picking up Battlefield V too, but then I remembered, right, hackers. Apparently it's a huge issue on Battlefield V as well, and once again, no acknowledgment or response from DICE.

If Battlefield 6, or whatever this year's game is called, doesn't have anti-cheat integration, I'm not purchasing it no matter how fantastic the game is.

EDIT: forgot 3 and 4 actually did have punkbuster. Removed those from my post. Still, where is the anticheat in the rest of DICE's games?

New to BF, is EU cheater situation that bad?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2021 05:14 AM PST

I'm in north Asia and I heard that the cheater situation is bad, especially in Asia servers. Is the situation in Asia playable and is it possible to dodge them by connecting to Europe servers?

What’s the general opinion on counter-knifing in BF4?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 11:11 PM PST

Back when the game released I remember this being a hot topic for awhile. It seemed like half the player-base loved it and the other half thought it ruined melee combat.

I always thought it was a fun gimmick that made successful knife kills more satisfying but I think the new melee mechanics in 1 and V work a lot better. I could see it working if they maybe limited it to countering bayonet charges only or having it be a button-mash mini-game.

Now that the games been out for a few years, what are your thoughts on it? They removed it in Hardline, 1, and V so I assume it was mostly unpopular and probably won't be making a comeback. It was still an interesting idea that doesn't seem to get talked about very much which is why I'm posting this.
