- No...you're NOT the only one who's seen the portal characters in the UI
- BF4 AK12 vs BF2042 AK24 Recoil
- Me when I check if a nearby soldier is my teammate or an enemy.
- Uhh, Dice... I don't think that's how machine guns work.
- Battlefield 1’s probably did more damage
- Why did they decide to make all the player models the same for each team? Who on gods green earth thought it was a good idea? Over all the game is fun but DICE always have to shoot themselves in the foot with at least one dumb ass idea per game.
- Forget bf2042 and watch this kill animation from a 10 yo game
- Don't Worry, Already Sent In My Application To Faze
- I like the game overall, but it has a lot of annoying things that bring it down
- I like it but will concede it needs work
- No regrets
- Battlefield 1 was the peak of the franchise atmosphere-wise.
- Happens almost every time...
- Killing enemies in battlefield 2042 be like:
- With absolutely no visual distinction between the two teams (except in portal mode), imagine playing on hardcore
- Operators aren't bad. Lack of classes is. Huge mistake.
- Trying to tell the who is on you're team when you run into a group of players.
- This is what it feels like
- Defibrillators NEED TO BE Devices Again
- This is why no one is playing Medic right now. Also... why did they remove the "Distance to medic" thing from BF1 and BFV? Because there's no medic class, that's why.
- Specialists Ruin The Game
- This was my first shot taken with the tank in 2042, I used to do things like this all the time back in the older titles
- Don't worry guys, the pilot has got it all under control. 'Tis but a scratch.
- Totaly unnecessary and stupid
- I'm already hooked
- I feel like Battlefield Portal and community created servers are only way to ever get me excited on this new release.

Operators aren't bad. Lack of classes is. Huge mistake. Posted: 06 Oct 2021 09:21 PM PDT Operators pretty much are only defined by a couple of abilities. I can live by that and actually have already gotten used to it. But the lack of classes is absolutely asinine. Everyone uses the same gun. No one does anything, or everyone does one thing. It feels like team composition is literally just stay with your blue dots on the HUD. There is no semblence of strategy or balance. Since everyone can use everything, there actually is no diversity at all say for the operator abilities, and those actually don't impact the game as much as I thought. I have no idea who is doing what. Who is running ammo? Who is running medkits? Who is running anti tank? I have never cared so little for my teammates in a Battlefield game until now, because the lack of knowing just what everyone has is irritating. Skirmishes all feel the same. Just pew pew fully automatics, medium to short range, or at least that is what it feels like. They need to go back to locking guns and equipment to classes. You want anti tank? Have to use LMG. You want proximity? Have to snipe. This doesn't impact their specialist system, because all those do is change abilities. As is, they are literally saying there are "classes" just to make us happy. There aren't. Everyone can heal. Everyone can kill vehicles. Everyone can detect enemies. Everyone can give ammo. It doesn't matter who you are playing as. It just matters what equipment you selected to play with. And given the freedom and choice, it is clear players do NOT diversify or contribute in various fashions. So, force them to. That is what old Battlefields did, and it worked just fine. I have other problems with the game design, but this is the biggest. Portal will easily trump the mainline modes with how it currently is. Defibrillators NEED TO BE Devices Again Posted: 06 Oct 2021 10:21 PM PDT The ease in which a reviving person picks up a downed person's kit is absolutely frustrating beyond all belief. Or AT LEAST do NOT drop their kit until they're actually killed! I've switched out so many freaking weapon kits that I just won't revive people anymore…and that's sad. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2021 07:36 AM PDT Specialists ruin several of the core pillars of Battlefield's iconic gameplay: -FRIENDLY VS ENEMY ID: Everyone looks identical now. It's impossible to tell friend from foe without pausing for a moment to see if they have a friendly dot above their head, which isn't super visible. In my short time playing the beta i've already had multiple occasions where an enemy pops out or jumps into a group of friendlies and i cant tell them apart, so engaging enemies is difficult. -THREAT DETECTION: In past games, DICE put alot of effort into making every class easily identifiable based on their silhouette alone. This made it easy to gauge a threat because you could tell what type of weapon they used, so you could decide if you should engage. Now that classes, a core pillar of the franchise, are just gone, you have no idea what someone is using, you have no idea what their kit is like. -CLASS IDENTITY: Classes are a core part of Battlefield and one of my favorite aspects of the franchise. That's now just gone, because EA/DICE would rather give up core pillars of the franchise's identity in favor of monetizable skins. This also means weapons are now unlocked in an arbitrary order via your overall level, so if you want a specific LMG, you can't just focus on the support class and unlock it, you now have to wait until you reach whatever arbitrary level they chose for that gun. This also makes class mastery and specializing into one class that you prefer feel less important. All in all, this change is extremely unhealthy for the game. Immersion breaking at best, seeing multiple identical looking characters on both teams, and gameplay breaking at worst. P.S. on an unrelated note, why do ALL guns have so much zoom? Even handguns with iron sights. It makes the gunplay feel really clunky, especially at close range. Please give us the BF1 style option to choose the zoom level of our ADS. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2021 06:47 AM PDT I mean Battlefield 2042 is a huge mess right now. It had so much potential but it doesn't even feel like Battlefield in this state. All I is want balance, teamwork, classes, difference in appearance between two teams. I want to feel like a soldier, same as everyone else. I do not want to celebrate my individualistic hero capabilities. I want a true Battlefield game and I feel like I'm not alone. EA and DICE seemingly cannot give us what we want and thus leave it the to the community. Battlefield Portal has potential to really create the remastered feeling of those past games that we all loved. I wish we as a community can create servers that provide to the players who now feel mixed about this new release and the change in direction this series is heading to. When these servers get popular, it will also give EA and DICE crucial data of what their player base really wants. I wish we could have the old Battlefield feeling in Battlefield 2042. We as a community just need the tools. Please EA and DICE: Don't fuck this up... [link] [comments] |
