I went into Battlefield V with an unbiased view.

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 10:47 PM PDT

I probably know this has been said a million times. Now i had no intention of buying BFV because I still play BF1 a lot. It's as simple as that.

when i decided i should put that $20 into BFV, I put aside all the criticism it got from being poorly marketed and (debatably) pushing an unrealistic, social political agenda in relations to it's time period's historic accuracy. I wanted to try it and form my own opinion.

I have high hopes for BFV, I am interested in the unpopular battles of WW2 as it was a massive war, while Normandy, Stalingrad and Berlin usually get all the centre point. (Though i would've loved to see that in current BF graphics). This is a game i'm actually hyped for.

So after 30 hours of gameplay. Heres my verdict for the multiplayer.

It feels like a downgrade. It feels like its trying to replicate Call of Duty's simple, fast paced action but executes it with many flaws. Something about this game just feels unfinished as compared to BF4 or BF1. The weapons feel so dull and dry, more so than the simplistic weapons of BF1. In every BF game i've played, I've come to love a certain weapon and become familiar with it. In BFV, I managed to get all the guns i like to level 10, fully customize and spec out, finished proficiencies and masteries for 4 different guns i frequent but whenever i use them, it still feels like its unfamiliar to me.

The tanks are insanely OP, sniping is braindead now with barely any bullet drop, the character animations can be bugged out by proning so you can dodge bullets(i call it breakdancing). Respawning is a pain in the ass, i gotta stare at the guy who killed me for 4 whole seconds before needing to wait for a medic/squad to revive me in 2-5 seconds or i need to do a 3 second force bleed out then wait another 10 seconds to deploy again. Thats a total of a 17 second respawn time. Fast paced action mixed with this new revive system does not work.

Now minor things, the dialogue is so corny, the sound and ambience makes it feel like you're not in a battlefield.

Its almost like this game feels like it came out before BF1942 has some sort of demo.

This is just a bad game. I really hope none of this is adopted into BF6.

10/10 music, i still play the game with friends. but i like being on the menu screen cuz of that melody.

Which game should I get BF1 or BF4?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:20 PM PDT

So I'm done playing BF5 and I was thinking about going back to either bf4 or 1 but I don't want to get both. Which has a larger player base and which is better?

Why was battlefield hardline hated so much?

    Posted: 04 Aug 2020 05:35 PM PDT

The cops and robbers theme was fun in my opinion. The gameplay was faster paced and the guns werent as big and didnt cover up the whole screen like the other battlefields. What was the problem with this game?

Why does BF1 and BFV switch to icons from words for the kill feed?

Battlefield game set during the Soviet war in Afghanistan?

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 08:47 AM PDT

So I looked at a post that mentioned about a possible Battlefield game set in Iraq and while it might be a cool idea, I thought it might be better to do a Battlefield game that takes place during the Soviet War in Afghanistan🇦🇫 since the Soviet-Afghan War wasn't that well known in Western History (I think - apologies for any inaccuracies).

Here's my ideas for a possible Soviet-Afghan War Battlefield game:

Weapon sounds: Battlefield 3 mechanics Multiplayer: Battlefield 3 multiplayer gameplay

Players: - 40th Army (Soviet Union) - Soviet VDV including 9th Company, 345th Independent Guards Airborne Regiment - Soviet Army when applicable - Spetsnaz GRU including Muslim Battalions

Campaign: Open world-based missions inspired from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, including night operations, Spetsnaz GRU missions that include events leading up to and including Operation Storm-333, battles with insurgents that unlock more in the campaign as opposed to retreating after winning a fight, intelligence gathering of the enemy, critical side missions, cooperation with civilians, helicopter missions, tank missions, BMP-2 and APC missions and the Battle of Hill 3234

Campaign HUD ideas: - HUD from Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Languages spoken by Soviet forces including Spetsnaz GRU, enemies, Afghan military and civilians with English subtitles: - Pashto (Soviet Spetsnaz GRU, Afghan forces, civilians and enemies) - Dari (Soviet Spetsnaz GRU, Afghan forces, civilians and enemies) - Tajik - Turkmen - Uzbek - Russian (Soviet forces only) - Kazakh - Kyrgyz

Soviet military occupation in Afghanistan that must be visited in the campaign: - Bagram - Kandahar - Tajbeg Palace - Kabul - Herat - Others when accurately applicable

Other mechanics: - Friendly fire must cause characters to flinch and complain but not suffer any damage at all - Levolution

Required: must be appealing to Russia and the former USSR in order for the game to be sold worldwide

What are your thoughts on this possibility? How could this play out?

[Other] Battlefield 2021 will probably a flop.

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 01:35 AM PDT

With the amalgamation of incompetence and arrogance that DICE has evolved to, there's little hope that BF6 will mirror the same quality as past BF titles. The success of Call of Duty and Warzone probably got DICE execs drooling and will most likely imitate it— and couple that with the FNGs that's making up 90% of DICE right now, it's a recipe for disaster.

    Still hoping though.

Hear me out, next game should be Battlefield Korea.

There's not really a game that covers it and I think it could provide a good restart for the franchise.

Does anybody play bf1 on Oceana servers anymore

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 06:13 AM PDT

I have been trying to find bf1 matches for a few days now. I play from Australia and all I can find is North and South American servers. I am suggesting maybe ex bf1 players on this subreddit try out bf1 again
