BF6 - New game mode idea: Theatre of War 32vs32vs32

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:02 AM PDT

Last time we had Firestorm, but it did not really feel like Battlefield. So here is my idea of a new game mode that I would like to see in BF6.

    Theatre of War

A map big as Halvoy (Firestorm map in BFV). With a new game mode with 3 teams, with 32 players in each team (no scoreboard for the other teams). Each side has one big point to defend. Like a military base or town. There are also 3-4 smaller objectives around that main point.

In the middle of the map, there is huge city where most fights will take place. Because the capture point in the middle will give you a good defense in the city (maybe a military base?) plus some important upgrades or bonuses.

Each game will also be played for hours (maybe 4 or 8), each hour IRL will be 12 hours in-game. So there will be both day and nighttime. Each 10 minutes every team get score based on the numbers of control points they own (holding a bigger point = more score).

The player will be awarded for each 10 minutes played and the player will gain a extra boost in rewards after the game is finished. So when you join this game mode, you will feel that you are part of a gigantic battle that does not just end after 20-30 minutes. Because you are there, in the middle of the war.

BF6 map example Small circles is smaller capture points and the big are important capture points to hold.

    What are you thoughts?

Do you think BF6 ( assuming that is the next game, in modern setting ) should have a free to play BR stand alone, much like modern warfare?

Let's just assume they screw their heads on and learn from BFV's mistakes and pull it off correctly this time..

Battlefield: Revived? Is there any thing like it? TL:DR at the bottom skip to that part and dont read the post thx

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:01 AM PDT

So recently i heared about BFrevived for the first time and thought, "wow this seems like a load of fun is this still a thing" now i knew EA would do something, so i was hoping to at least be able to play it once but sadly no, so i looked around and found some info and EA apearently did not force them to close Doors only remove cracked version of their games but any how so i was wondering is there any thing like this

OH and how is these people reviving a game and GIVING it away for free a problem or atleast a big problem EA does not really seem to care about thoes games (mainly for me BF2142) and sure maybe people will go play that instead of BF1/5 but i dont think Enough people will.

TL:DR Is there any thing like BFrevived any More i dont really care about that other point 😂

BF6 Gadget/Game Mechanic Blacklist ~ Feel Free to Suggest!

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 07:06 AM PDT

While it is always a good thing for a community to provide their ideas and feedback for things they would LIKE to see in Battlefield 6 (assuming it will be a modern setting), I think it would be foolish not to discuss things that we would NOT LIKE TO SEE ...consider it somewhat of a 'lessons learnt' exercise.

The following are my pet peeves that remain irritating to this very day having returned to some of the older titles (particularly Battlefield 4), some of which I considered questionable from launch as an infantry player and Battlefield enthusiast (started with Battlefield 1942: Road to Rome):

    1. Thermal/FLIR/IR for both infantry and vehicles. Stop cheesing your target identification capabilities of infantry, vehicles and mines. Some may claim that you should throw smoke/flares to mess with the sights...not really going to help when you're half a map away and the tank needs only shift 3 meters to get a clear angle. (A solution to this would be to provide an NV Goggles mechanic that you can preset for certain maps and toggle manually, with no element of heat signatures)
    2. Active Protection (Ground Vehicles). It definitely is irritating when the enemy tank is able to simply press a button to take NO DAMAGE when given an specific audio signal, allowing them to retreat safely and poke out again when the protection is back online in a matter of seconds. This is made even worse in cases where you need to keep a direct lock on the target (e.g. Javelin lock), and they are able to retaliate thanks to the Thermal sights mentioned in Point 1. (A solution would be to HEAVILY REDUCE the damage taken, approx. 25% damage from hits, while the ability is active, and possibly a mobility debuff for the duration.)
    3. Frag Rounds on Shotguns. While streaming 2 days ago ( https://www.twitch.tv/donsaidtv ), I ran into a guy spawning on a beacon via parachute, armed with a Saiga 12K with Frag Rounds and IR (again, Point 1 showing up again). Particularly in a Hardcore match, this mechanic proved always left the player with 3-4 kills before even hitting the ground, barely giving time for one to get close to the beacon to stop the shenanigans temporarily. I will admit, I thought that this rare species had disappeared from the game, but I would hope the devs rather not risk such behavior becoming the norm in a new title. (As for the reason why he was killing people so quickly, I tend to be a Hardcore game-mode player - hence the insta-death what feels like a 5 meter radius.)
    4. Anti-Aircraft Vehicles. We all know that feeling, when these AA vehicles (again, usually armed with Points 1 and 2) lurk around the edge of the map; slaughtering both infantry and aircraft in view, before retreating the safety of their base at the first sight of an enemy tank or suffering the slightest bit of damage.
    5. Lack of Hardcore at Launch. Although probably one of the lesser oversights of Battlefield 5, I do believe that the lack of a Hardcore game-mode/ability to host Hardcore servers may have scared off some of the people who enjoyed a quicker TTK (Time To Kill) and a bit more of a challenge as they deemed fit. (Solution -> Have Hardcore available at launch!)

Feel to leave your own suggestions and thoughts down below! Keep in mind, these are my personal opinions and we each have the right to agree/disagree :-)

To the Devs: I hope that this thread can somehow be deemed useful this early in development, and I look forward to seeing what your next title brings to the table! Always happy to help where possible.

    Steamer to follow?

Who are some good streamers/uploaders to follow that play any battlefield game really well? I used to play in the bf3 days and am looking to get back into it with the next release (bf6).

Need help to find a gif

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 04:36 AM PDT

I believe it was BF1 (could have been BF5) It was of an avenge killing chain of like 4 or 5 players, guns and melee and the last guy gets blown up by a grenade if, I remember correctly. Anyone else know which gif I refer to?

Would you give Hardline a try now that it's $5 on Steam?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 12:07 AM PDT

I would, I played the beta back when I had a crappier computer and honestly had fun. Hotwire was great and it was an interesting spin-off.

I know there's barely any servers now, but 3 and 4 have been around for longer and there's still a decent playerbase. Is Hardline dead for good or there can be a resurgence of the playerbase?

What are some viable alternatives to the AEK-971 as assault?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 09:46 AM PDT

It's no secret. The AEK is ridiculously overpowered at close range. Anyone can see a massive improvement in their performance as assault if they use it and keep it at close range

Given how cheap it is, and if an assault would want to use something different, what are some decent alternatives? It seems to outclass anything else

Battlefield 4 vs Battlefield 1 [PC]

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:37 AM PDT

I'm looking to return to Battlefield and would like some advice on how to do so. As per the title, which game has the better gunplay in terms of hit reg and movement? Which suits an aggressive play style better? Feel free to include any other info that you think is relevant to the decision.

call me un-informed but, is Dice going to release all the leaked skins for Battlefield V?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 02:38 AM PDT

Because ever since the leak. Those accurate skins have me interested in buying BFV on steam.

[Other] The next battlefield game should be 2143.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2020 09:29 PM PDT

With the past few games the battlefield series has more or less reached its logical conclusion. You can't go further back in time in terms of setting than world war 1 and still preserve the battlefield style, and you can't just make another modern setting battlefield, with BF4 still being played and holding up to this day. EA/DICE understandably didnt want to hop on the future shooter bandwagon when CoD was doing it, hut i think now would be the perfect time for a sequel to 2142. That game was fucking amazing, and with the return of commander mode in Bf4 and the Final Stand DLC the stage is essentially set for it.
