Anyone else less than excited about the "heroes"?

    Posted: 14 Jul 2021 05:26 AM PDT

I feel pretty disappointed that DICE has gone done this path, with replacing our basic generic soldiers with named individuals with sterotypical backstories that are pure fantasy. It is 2021, why can we not get to just customise our own characters? The arguement that it would be performace heavy is way past its expiry date, and the "heroes" model has been done to death in other shooters like Modern Warfare.

It is a boring system, and I feel a lot of other people would rather feel like they are playing as themselves if you will. We are going to get around 10 or so of these poorly written specialists, and I can see it just ending up like MW at this stage with weird cosmectic upgrades. I feel the community would be far more excited to recieve the ability to vastly customise our own classes instead, within reason of course.

I know other people won't have issue with this, but for me, having up to 128 people being able to literally be the same, named person is just beyond stupid. In all honesty I would rather we just have the generic classes of BF3/4, with the ability to simply change our camo for said faction than to have this system.

You will not be able to play offline with bots, even when playing Solo. This is incredibly disappointing considering Star Wars Battlefront 2 supported 64 bots completely offline in instant action.

This is a question and discussion. Is spotting in battlefiled 2042 (and I mean spotting for every player like in BF1 or BF4) and do you think having it is a good idea?
