Hello, One of my good friends just uploaded a video on how to improve with the Recon class. I thought it was extremely informative and for sure worth a look.

    Movement in Battlefield [OTHER]

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 03:37 AM PDT

    • useless/ uncontrollable animations which interrupt the flow of gameplay

I'm not sure what their deal is with stonewalling player freedom by locking them into animations that just completely screws the flow. While they are cool the first time you see them, after that first time it's just kinda dumb imo. The whole being knocked on your back after an explosion thing just doesn't make sense in a PVP environment. And imo this also applies to rolling, but at least that animation I can understand and can be avoided.

    • Mounting

I never liked auto deploy bipods, but I accepted them in BF1 as simply a bandaid coming from BF4s unreliable mounting system. I think the whole purpose of a bipod is that you get extreme accuracy benefits in exchange you are extremely exposed, not so in BF1 and BFV, you can go from strafe to mounted back to strafe instantly with no delays or anything. I think mounting a bipod should be a physical action which requires the player to make a tradeoff for extreme benefit. I don't think it should be implemented like it was in BF3 and 4 either as the system of having to tap a button quickly to deploy was clunky. Instead I'd say it needs to be implemented like it was in MW19 by going up to a pice of cover, aiming, and then pressing melee. Which this brings up something else, which would be inspired by MW19, but having all weapons have the ability to mount, but would only be 25% as effective as a weapon mounted with a bipod would be a cool little game mechanic.

    • Sliding

I didn't play enough V to know how to sliding mechanic could be abused, but I did play enough BF1 to speak about that. Based on my experience with BF1 I think sliding should have a cool down so it can't be spammed and a speed reduction doesn't work considering the fact the sliding makes your hitbox harder to hit. Imo sliding should not be an offensive tool. While I know the "competitive" players would disagree I just think that offensive sliding doesn't have a place.

    • Tactical Sprint?

This is more wishful than anything else. I played a little bit of Modern Warfare and the one thing I loved the most was the tactical sprint where you could sprint faster than normal for a few seconds, but as a trade off it would take longer to aim and fire your weapon. I think that kind of mechanic would work really well in the types of situations and environments present in Battlefield maps.

    • the good

It's not all bad tho. I think the vaulting and climbing mechanics are the best they've ever been. And while I'm sure they are still somewhat buggy i know they are not anywhere as bad as what they were in BF4 where often times you'd just flop around everywhere when trying to vault over objects. And the whole grabbing onto ledges thing is really cool. I just want less uncontrollable movement mechanics and animations. Sure they look cool, but after a minute they are just annoying and clearly something that was only made for a trailer.

[BF4] Looking for a Milsim Group

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 10:42 PM PDT

Looking for a new milsim group... Only experience I have doing this is with a group of friends that I randomly met playing on Xbox 360. If anyone's looking for a medic, I'm available on Xbox One. I'm willing to learn rules and regs since I'm still new to this whole thing. My discord is Zalrak#9951, so if anyone wants to help me out, that'd be awesome.

    Thanks :)

[BF4] Which battlefield should I get?

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 04:53 PM PDT

I recently got back into bf4 on my ps4. But now I want to pick up a bf game on the pc. So should I get 4, 5, or 1? Which has the bigger playerbase, which has the longer lifespan?

[BFV]Looking to buy BFV, am I missing out much going for the basic version?

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 04:47 PM PDT

I don't care much for skins/cosmetics but I see that 13 weapons are added from the first year. Am I missing out on much if I go or the non-Year-2 version?
