- Coming near 2000 hours of in-game time in BF4, this is my favorite Battlefield game, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with its own problems.

| Posted: 24 Feb 2020 10:54 AM PST Why mobile AA is still so ridiculously powerful against aircraft is a joke. Any match of Lancang Dam or Golmud with competent AA players will prove that. You have no reaction to flare when getting missiles fired at you from them, and even from 500m off they can shred you still like Swiss cheese. From a balancing perspective, that shit is wack. I'm not even a heli shitter and I spend Golmud games C4 jeeping AA. It makes me so happy. Fall damage in this game is so jank it's not even funny. Sometimes you can drop from a 20 foot drop and take no damage. Other times you vault over something 20 feet high and it nearly kills you. As an example, capture point Delta on Siege of Shanghai, where the little bridge is that connects the two second floors, at 100 health, dropping down will drop you to 30 health, yet jumping down the staircase or conveyor on the opposite ends of the building will drop your health to 78-80. I guess no battlefield game is perfect, but this spot and many others like it are bugged with excessive fall damage. (I've actually managed to kill enemy players by baiting them to jump down from the bridge area just to see the bodies bounce and splat.) Suppression was a great idea, but personally it takes a lot of skill out of the game. BF4 is essentially a game of "who shoots who first, usually wins" and I don't particularly like that method. Suppression is really fickle, too. A high caliber bullet whizzing past you while you're trying to shoot someone can scramble plans instantly. Vehicles especially eviscerate your suppression levels, making you near blind, and throws your accuracy out the window to leave you only able to run away, not for your own life, but for your own lethality, too. I get what they were doing though, and it's a cool idea, basically making your soldier have a "oh shit" meter, but sometimes it feels clunky and unfair. Especially when you know how to take advantage of the suppression effect, which I won't explain to keep that strat quiet. TL;DR: I really like this game, and have time dumped the shit out of this, but I hope/expect better in terms of gunplay mechanics for the next battlefield game. BFV has got good gunplay outside of TTK being kinda insane, but I feel a healthy balance could be a great thing in the next game and make it a show stopper for other FPSs. Bad Company 2 was the game that got me into the franchise and im really hoping that after two game set in the past (im not a fan of the older style games). Some maps visibility is so bad in the distance and everything is quite blurry so it's hard to spot people sometimes. I wish they would remaster this for console. Bf4 with bf1 graphics and this would be the greatest console shooter of all time. I know it would never happen but that's all I would need to play this game forever lol. Inb4 pc master race. Shut up.
