Battlefield 3 Rush Kharg Island Tank Gameplay Rampage

I want to buy Battlefield 3 on PC but I'm not sure which version to get. I have the following questions:

- Do disc versions of BF3 share the same servers as origin?

- Should I get the DLC? Are they still played/are they worth it?

- How active are the servers?

I've be playing battlefield for a while now. I'm curious as to your personal tips are for being a good battlefield player.

Some of my own:

I find the grenade launch is best used in combination with my assault rife. If I try to get a kill with my launcher alone usually I just get a few takes. But if I tag em with the gun, then the launcher I find I have a lot more success. But aways nade early and nade often.
Do your job. Health, ammo, repairs, ect. Always look for every opportunity to do these things. These are integral parts of the game. Your success as a player is directly linked to your team's success. Remember, the team that plays together, slays together.
Get good with side arms. There isn't enough ammo in the world. Fuck reloading. In a tight spot you're probably already done for. Take out your MP412 Rex and take down a few of the bastards with ya.

I could go on but I would really love to hear what you have say.
