Need some gameplay advice on overcoming poor accuracy Posted: 13 Apr 2022 11:37 PM PDT I used to be somewhere between average and good back in the day (both during my time playing on Xbox and early in my time playing on Origin), but lately after returning to BF3, it seems like I just, well, suck. Accuracy and recoil are issues for me that weren't issues before. Even if I'm aiming dead center on at a guy at relatively close range, I'm only able to hit the guy about 25% (and I say hit, not kill) of the time, and when I don't, I just completely miss every shot I take – if I'm firing full auto, I can keep the recoil in check but my shots go all over the place, and if I fire single shots or bursts, the rifle or carbine I'm using kicks up like a mule and I never hit anything and can't stay on target. Compare that to enemy players, who seem to be able to just hose me down on long automatic salvos (or rapid but accurate spam fire) with no issues whatsoever. My three favorite guns are the ACW-R, the QBZ-95B, and the M417. I've somehow done very well with those in the past (and deeply enjoy them more than anything else), yet now after a long hiatus, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I don't know if my attachment setups are factoring in here (to heavy barrel and/or foregrip, or not to heavy barrel and/or foregrip?), but that's something I'm also curious about. I'm asking about all of the above mainly just to get a sense of how other people avert the issues I have. I don't feel like I'm a bad player by any means (as in I still get some kills and I'm a team player who uses strategy and plays my class properly), but I just want to be able to actually fight competently at ranges longer than a few meters so I see killcams less often. As a side note – I know the feature is in BF4, but does BF3 contain the option to adjust the size of the Kobra and U.S. red dot sights, because the reticles are too damn big and that contributes to my stormtrooper-grade accuracy (it's hard to zero in on a distant enemy if the dot or cross completely covers their body).
