Does the commander squad promotion even do anything?

I was playing commander and almost every time I used squad promotion it seemed like it did nothing. Does it even work? I know it's supposed to help with field upgrades, but I saw no progress on the squad bar in commander mode.

Battlefield matchmaking issues

My internet connection is really good (i do have on fortnite always 5 ping) and my internet speed is 1Gbit/s and i play on ps4 and i use Ethernet connection. But whenever i join a server i got a Error message "Bad internet connection" i do all right nlthing wrong, but if make 26 tries to join, i finally manage to join. On battlefield 1 i can use the "quick match" and same issue but if i join in battlefield 1 server it is mostly less populated like mostly 0-3 people or 10-16 or 32 players and i noticed on battlefield 4 it needs less tries to less populated servers like 32 players of 64, this is mostly get with 3 tries. If i am on qeue it is really anoying, i wait frickn 10 minutes on the qeue to the game say bad internet conection, try again

Installing punkbuster

I reinstalled BF4 but chose not to install pb because I didn't realise I needed it - thought ranked servers were for tournaments. So I do need it after all.

Tried to install the version from PB site that runs in the windows tray but I'm still getting kicked for not having it.

Is there a different way to install?
