Just started playing BF4 again, the last time I played was probably 3 years ago, and I have to say I'm enjoying this game immeasurably more than I ever did BFV. With BF6 coming back to modern times I reloaded bf4 to get back into the swing of it again, having given up on the battlefield games for a while after not connecting with BFV. Just here to say how much I've missed this game and how much more fun and joyful it is to play over BFV. Don't know what it was about 5 that didn't do it for me, I liked BF1, it was a good tangent in the battlefield series but 5 never hooked me. I tried to play it countless times, forcing myself to even, in the hopes I'd enjoy it but it just never clicked. Now I'm back on 4 and the battlefield bug is back in me and in exceedingly looking forward to 6.

Battlefield 6 needs to have The Heckler & Koch G36 and all other variants. XM8 too.

I finally realized what put me off so much about BF1 and BFV compared to 3 and 4.

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 05:54 PM PDT

The sound effect whenever you get a kill.

I know it's a pretty small thing, when compared to stuff like map design, gunplay, etc etc. But watching clips of 4 and 1 side by side, the thing that most makes me prefer 4 is that every. Single. Kill. Is not followed by an Overwatch/Titanfall-esque fanfare. It takes me out of the moment so much. I know a similar sound effect existed in 4, but that was just for ribbons, medals, and the like, not every little thing that gives you points.

I don't want to say it makes it feel arcadey, because then I sound like some guy preaching battlefield as the premier realistic game or whatever, but it just feels like it doesn't fit.

Looking at the trend though BF6 will probably share that with the last 2 games... shame.
