Stop comparing hardcore FPS titles to Battlefield. Posted: 18 Feb 2021 03:36 AM PST Am I the only one who feels like this? Everytime I try to search for games similar to Battlefied, I'll always eventually come across a selection of always referred to games: ARMA series, Hell Let Loose, Beyond the Wire, Squad, and many more realistic shooter games. While these are good games in their own right, they are seriously targetting a far different audience than Battlefield. Battlefield is a casual, faster experience than any of those games which are more tactical, realistic and slow. They have far different game beats, mechanics, flow, and many more compared to Battlefield. Yet for some reason, everyone keeps comparing them to Battlefield and especially Youtubers who keep saying shit like "Beyond the Wire is what Battlefield 1 should have been" or "ARMA is what Battlefield should be" like what? Do these people want the Battlefield series to be reduced to an ARMA/Squad clone? To be a boring ass walking-for-30-minutes-then-die-simulator? Even the original/classic releases of the series (1942 to Battlefield 3) were not as slow or as punishing as Hell Let Loose or Squad. The "one bullet and you die" slogan of these games are not as fun as you think it is. Battlefield was always meant to be a large-scale but casual FPS game. It was and still is not about realism. Stop comparing it to realistic/hardcore games. [link] [comments] | ||
