    Will battlefield 1 servers ever come back up?/does anyone know why they aren't?

    It's been so long, about 3 weeks for me. I've contacted support and researched online and the EA support team and a website has told me that bf1 is currently experiencing major issues on console (I'm on Xbox One), yet I can't see anything else here about others having these issues. Is it actually a thing or is my connection just cooked? I've been a little annoyed as bf1 is one of my favourite past times and I'd really like to play again soon

    [Other] I went back to BF1 after playing MW for a year. Here's what I think which game did what better, and what we need for BF2021.

    First of all I think the setting needs to be modern. Let's be honest here, modern fits the BF formula the best. You have all sorts of different attachments, even attachments for vehicles could be great (and definitely possible).

    The last BF game I enjoyed a lot (for 1350 hours to be exact) was BF1. I decided to download it again after getting tired of the skill based matchmaking of CoD MW. The gameplay, graphics, sound design immediately makes you notice them. I noticed that I took them for granted when I was a regular player. But it does show its age compared to MW.

    Immersion

    BF1 Operations is the best. The soldiers screaming, the music kicking in, it's just so good, immersive as hell. Think about charging into Baghdad in an operations mode, as US troops, Abrams' and Bradleys supporting the infantry and the music kicking in.

    Soldier models being non customizable is not a bad thing imo. We could easily identify enemies as medic, recon etc and that's great. We don't want V style customization for more immersion.

    Gunplay and Weapon Customization

    But the biggest issue of BF1 is its gunplay and gun customization. Random bullet deviation should be non existent. This is what V did better than 1. Weapons should have specific recoil patterns one can learn. MW nailed the gunplay.

    We need a gunsmith similar to MW. I think DICE can do a better job at it, even. We should be able to modify our weapons however we want. A SCAR-H for close range? You can do it, but there are drawbacks such as noticeably more recoil. There should be pros and cons for most attachments.

    How About Vehicle Customization?

    Let's take an M1 Abrams. It comes to you as stock, M1 variant. You level it up, get the M1A1. Then you get the depleted uranium armor, better engine, M1A2, M1A2 SEP V2, V3... Let's say you can mount a 105mm gun or a 120mm. 105 is better against infantry because it reloads faster with same damage, but 120 damages enemy armor better but reloads slower.

    ... say you can add a remote controlled weapon station, but it makes the tank slightly slower maybe. Perhaps you can add TUSK armor. A cage around the commanders cupola to protect them from small arms, while operating an HMG.

    And maybe you can add a coax mg on top of the main barrel.

    They have a lot of freedom here too. They could limit each vehicle with, say, 5 attachments each, or they could go with a pros and cons system. You can customize your tank to be agile, but it'll lack armor. Or you can customize it to be a true tank, heavy armor (TUSK II package) but it'll be slow.

    Sound Design and the Feel of The Game

    lastly, the sound design. Weapons should feel like actual weapons. MW nailed it in this category as well. They should be loud, punchy. Reload animations should't be perfect (like BF4). I don't exactly know what it is, but MW is the best gun simulator I have ever played. Make it similar.

    Monetization

    Battle Pass, full of cosmetics. That simple.

    Hopefully DICE will manage to revive the franchise with this one. I feel like it's their last chance after BFV. Revive our favorite franchise. DICE pls.

    CHecked the list of games coming to game pass this holiday season, and I'm so incredibly excited for all the Battlefield titles to be available to all owners of game pass. Do you think the player numbers will skyrocket? (I personally hope Battlefield 4 and 1 get more players coming)
