[BF] Could Battlefield Cold War work

    Posted: 17 May 2020 04:41 AM PDT

(First I just want to apologize for my english)

So when people think about wars during Cold War they usually only think about 2 : Korea and Vietnam, but there were many uprisings, proxy wars, civil wars, etc.

    Conflicts and maps:

    1. First lets start with the obvious ones, Korea(1950-1953) . I don't think I need to explain it why we need this (And Vietnam). The maps could be cities: before and after the destruction.

    2. Vietnam(1955-1975) . Again we all expect this. The maps could be jungles/forests.

Now we a lot of choices. I thinking about :

    1. Six-Day war(1967). Israel vs Egypt/Syria/Jordan/Iraq. So this isn't the war that most people think during CW, and even tho it only lasted 6days the casualties and losses are in the thousands. And with this we can have desert style maps.

    2. Indo-Pakistani war (1971). This could be another Cities style maps addition.

    3. Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988). Another desert style maps.

    4. Portuguese Colonial War (1961-1974). Portugal vs Angola/Mozambique/Guinea. This is good for maps because it happened in many different places so the maps could be almost anything you want to, like in Guinea we can have some kind of naval invasion, and some island battles.

    5. Cuban Revolution(1953-1959). Another of the more well known situations. This could be good for some naval base battles, or just island battles.

And there are many more options to chose from.

Why I think that BF CW could be interesting :

    1. Time period : Because this "War" lasted long time (about 45 years) there could be interesting way to put different guns and vehicles depending on the map. And because of this every match would feel different from the last one, because you can't just one trick one gun, or do the same thing.

    2. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is a FPS that focuses on all Cold War, because they usually take 1 conflict. So this could be really unique and many people would be interested to try it.

    3. Diversity in countries. Usually in historical FPS we have the same nations fighting : Germany,France, UK, Russia, US… Ofc there is reason behind this but still more diversity could attract more people, especially if they have knowledge, or their country is fighting.

But this is just my opinion, let me know what do you think.

[BF5] can my build run it?

    Posted: 17 May 2020 06:23 AM PDT

    i've got an i5-2500, a gtx 970 gaming g1, 8gb ram 1600mhz

i've looked around and found contrasting opinions about this (i've looked o benchmark sites)

some people say they get stutter, lag and framerate drops others say they get 40/50 stable fps with this build...

what do you think? I care about getting stable fps with decent graphics... Am i too far from it?

    Should i buy for ps4 nstead? 2

[BF4] Want to try BF4. Need some input/help.

    Posted: 16 May 2020 03:45 PM PDT

I started playing BF with BF1, which was an awesome experience. Played BFV---well we all know how that turned out, although I could play effectively. I picked up BF4 and I am kinda lost as to where to start. Gear is so much more like COD and attachments are overwhelming.

I'm looking for input on weapons for mid to long-range infantry fights. My reflexes are a bit slower with age, so run and gun is not my cup of tea anymore.

    Anti Airs [BF5]

    Posted: 16 May 2020 09:42 PM PDT

They need to f*ckin nerf those aas you can't even kill them you get killed whenever you try to kill them. It is so op. They hit like 15-14. And in maps like wake island, you can not dodge anti airs. Anti airs need a quick nerf!

[BF6] Weight system depending on rig loadout, attachments?

    Posted: 16 May 2020 05:11 PM PDT

I'm not sure if battlefield had this tbh, but should battlefield 6 include a weight system that affects movement speed/ads speed depending on attatchments (similar to modern warfare)?

Class standards should be different. Engineer or support which carry heavy weapons should have their mobility reduced, with a rocket launcher, reduced slightly more and so on.. aussalt and medic with lighter SMGs or carbines would have theirs increased. Heavy attatchments to weapons would increase the ads times and vice versa with light attachments.

I think this would make selecting attatchments and loadout a little more thoughtful, rather than just selecting the best.. each would have pros and cons.

I don't think massive changes should occur to mobility but noticeable enough.

[BC2] Why the cancelation of BFV content makes Zero Sense with the known landscape

    Posted: 16 May 2020 01:04 PM PDT

Many feel like its justified. Many are upset. But given what we know (which is very little) the cancelation of new content to this "live service" game makes no sense.

To start with EA anticipates 2021-2022 for BF6. They expressed this in a investers call. It doesn't lock in a holiday 2021 release. Given this even if it did at a time when BF players are jumping off the franchise cause of unexciting titles and failure to deliver for more exciting and better quality products throwing in the towel completely on this game and leaving no supported Battlefield product on the market. This does not help the franchise. It drastically hurts the franchise. Ubisoft turned rainbow six seige around. Dice turned battlefront around and they just give up on battlefield V and its player base.

This is why this does not make any sense with in the realm of the status quo. It leaves EA with only apex legends as a supported competitor in the market and breaks all the promises made for this product.

The only thing that would give EA/Dice the green light to pull support is if another product is coming out. A product that appeals to those customers and that fan base. Only then would this cancelation make sense.
