    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:47 AM PDT

Hey guys I rented the server now for a week. I used to rent a server it's pretty hard to start it up but once it's running with people it works. My server has all the dlc maps and some from the base game. The name of the server is Best Maps . Favorite it share it with people do whatever! There's no other servers I see that has turning tides and such. I can't wait to play them again!

[BF1] EU PS4 server population on base game?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 06:58 AM PDT

Are there any servers for us base game owners or does it just revolve around the premium club? I was looking to redownload the game, but I don't want to waste a huge amount of time just to find out there are only empty servers.

Why not make the DLC available to all so everyone can play an actually decent Battlefield game together? Has EA not made enough money off that game? Greedy fucks...

    [battlefield] Future battlefield concept

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 10:09 AM PDT

I know that many people wont to see vietnam, but in my opinion franchise needs something totally new to get up from downfall that was battlefield V. I'm tolking about a cold war. This conflict never happend(I mean, no battles were fought) so dice would be completely free to use weapons that haven't seen daylight . I haven't heard about bigger game with this theme so new players would be interested. What you think is it good idea, would you play it ?

[BF1] What edition should I get?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:56 AM PDT

So I'm going to get BF1 soon. But I'm not sure which edition I should get. The Revolution edition comes with loads of DLCs. "In the name of the Tsar" comes with the Russian Empire. The standard edition is £2 cheaper than the Revolution edition. Which one should I buy?

I don't have any maps added in patches for Battlefield 1942 [BF1942]

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:12 AM PDT

I can't find any of the maps added in patches except for Battle of Britain, according to the BF1942 Wiki and other videos I should have:

    • Coral Sea
    • Invasion of the Philippines
    • Liberation of Caen
    • Operation Aberdeen
    • Raid on Agheila (Secret Weapons Expansion)

I only installed patch 1.6 and 1.6.1, as well as the expansions, do I need to download these maps or install other patches? Any help would be nice!

    Remembering [BF3]

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 10:45 AM PDT

Plain and simple, I think DICE needs to remaster Battlefield 3.

It's arguably their masterpiece, and it never saw time on the current gen consoles, so most people playing Battlefield today never experienced the glory that is BF3. And I don't trust them to make a brand new game at the moment.

Just think about all the memories...

Jumping off the helipad during Rush on Damavand Peak

Remembering when the USAS-12 shot nuclear bombs at people

Getting sniped by an M98B with a 12x scope from the spawn mountains on Operation Firestorm

Suppression feeling like you're in a near death experience

Putting your life and KD on the line just to flex your ACB-90

When you could actually strap C4 to the VDV Buggy and make the infamous Jihad Jeep

Glitching onto the overpass on Tehran Highway

The gunplay and gameplay being fast-paced, requiring tactical skills, and actual teamwork

Putting the Kobra sight on basically every single weapon

Teammates crashing jets into you all the time

Throwing grenades and jump-shooting on the right side staircase for 30 minutes straight on Operation Metro

Remembering when Trollin Dem Noobs first uploaded

How hype we all got to shoot down cubical walls on the Close Quarters maps

The never ending battle with snipers dropping spawn beacons over and over again

Asking the oblivious Support guy for ammo 50 times

The LFVs parachuting from the C130 in the End Game DLC

Sitting in the absolute cluster fuck that is the alleyway on Grand Bazaar instead of just going around it

Playing co-op with people who can't speak English

Noshar "Nosehair" Canals, possibly the best TDM map in all of the Battlefield franchise

Jumping out of jets and sniping enemy pilots

Scrambling for your life to get the last MCOM on Kharg Island

The Tank Superiority gamemode on those massive maps, putting World of Tanks to shame

The tower falling in Caspian Border, taking all the snipers with it

The earthquakes, zombie apocalypse vehicles, and crossbow from the Aftermath DLC

Skimming the Cobra chopper 3 meters off the ground

Doing dirtbike stunts on Operation Riverside

And the list goes on. So many "Only in Battlefield" moments and memories. BF has lost its flair and chaotic sandbox feel. And it seems too easy now, compared to how fast paced and overwhelming BF3 was. I played that game probably more than any other game I've had. From launch in 2011 until 2016, everyday. Truly, one of the best games I have ever played.

If DICE and EA spontaneously do better somehow, remastering BF3 is one of the best things they could possibly do.

[BF4] Are their XP farm lobbies like there are on BF3 PC?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 08:41 AM PDT

I'm 130ish on PS4 and would like to get back into the game on PC but not having access to all my normally unlocked weapons and vehicle modifications is really killing my motivation to play. Is there any way to cheese XP in BF4? Should I just buy a leveled account instead?

[Other] The Case for a "Cold War Gets Hot" Setting for BF6

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 02:46 PM PDT

Been thinking about this one for awhile, I believe a WWIII game set somewhere between (or spanning the entirety of, on and off?) the late 50s - early 80s could be an interesting and viable setting for the next Battlefield. Here's a few reasons for this:

    1. The core pillars of modern warfare gameplay without the excess. There's this perfect mix of analogue and digital that I feel can only be explored in this era. Some stuff looks like it'd fit in on the beaches of Normandy, some stuff looks Master Chief could be seen with it. With a game set in this era you get pretty much everything you need for the perfect battlefield game. That's jets, tanks, helicopters, fully automatic assault rifles, suppressors, different sighting systems from guns, etc etc. And this is without the need for any deep anachronism or leaning too heavily into the less believable experimental "believe it or not they made three factory prototypes of these in 1923 so we're giving it to everyone" side of things like they often had to do in BF1 and V. But the big thing for me is you also don't have to lean into all of the near-future drones and tech gadgets that people were getting so sick of with this gen.
    2. Flexible setting and varied maps: Since it's fictional you have to excuse to take us all over the world. The Battle of Berlin. The South China Sea Campaign. The Alaska Theater. The Invasion of Hokkaido. The Caucasus Incursion. The Los Angeles Port Raid. The problem with a game based on an actual conflict is that it's confined entirely to the setting it actually took place in. The most notable option in this era is Vietnam, but in comparison that one little corner of the world is pretty limiting. The devs can really use their imagination here and make some stunning and memorable set pieces.

    3. Guns, guns, guns. What I really like about this era is the weaponry. The world's big players were all manufacturing their own distinct service rifles and equipment. An arsenal with the G3, the M16, the AK-47, the FN FAL, etc in their early iterations, before mass picatinny-railing of every weapon platform, allows their unique character to really pop out. And by the time you get to say the 70s you've got access to the early versions of the vast majority of guns you find in a modern shooter.

    4. Lightly Treaded Ground. Recent Battlefield games seem to want veer away from norm in the AAA shooter market, with an out-of-nowhere WWI shooter and then an, ahem, "alternative" take on WWII. This would really keep with that theme, but with much more creative license allowed. Since it'd be completely fictional, as long as you don't do anything too batshit, you're not going to piss off the history buffs. And at the same time, it'd be a pretty fresh experience. Off the top of my head the original Black Ops is really the only other AAA shooter set in this era, so it's not like anyone will complain that it's been overdone.

Might edit this with some additional points if they come to me. Any thoughts, or ideas for a different setting?
