Battlefield 3 Playing Battlefield 3 on PC in 2020 |
Playing Battlefield 3 on PC in 2020 Posted: 04 Jan 2020 04:53 AM PST Hello. I was thinking of buying Battlefield 3 for PC. I used to play this game quite a bit back in the day on my PS3, but I've been using my PC to play games since 2016. I know that my PC is more than good enough to play it, but I remember how awkward it was to use Battlelog back in 2011. I'll be honest ... I didn't like Battlelog being forced on PC players. I liked it's features, and I prefer the Battlelog server browser over the in-game browser we've had since BF4, but I hated the fact that you had to open a web browser in order to play a AAA multiplayer game on PC. I also remember that a lot of Battlelog's functionality caused problems when popular browsers like Chrome stopped supporting them. Can a modern version of Chrome or Firefox (hell, even Microsoft Edge of all things) be used for Battlelog without tinkering around too much, or will I have to use some outdated browser? I also remember a set of mod tools called Venice Unleashed being made a few years ago. I'm quite excited for it, as it allows us to get rid of the (in my opinion) unnecessary blue filter BF3 has. It also allows for 60Hz server functionality, which is almost necessary for multiplayer games nowadays. Is there a large enough community using VU? If there is, I might opt for that to avoid using Battlelog. Some people may wonder why I'm trying to play BF3 over BF4, since BF4 has a much larger population. I suppose I'm like u/DANNYonPC in this regard ... I loved BF3 ... BF4 was a completely different story ... [link] [comments] |
