    Hey guys! I am not sure if this is the right sub for that question so please redirect me if I'm in the wrong place.

    I have a ~ 3 year old HP Envy 15 with following specs:

    - Intel i5 5200u

    - GT940m

    - 8GB RAM

    I use it generally for browsing the internet and all the basic stuff but I also like playing Battlefield 4 from time to time. The problem is that that the fps drop to 20-25 after couple of minutes of playing (from 50-60 on min settings). I have checked the resource monitor and noticed that Windows shuts down two cores (threads(?)) (marked as CPU2 and CPU3) - limiting the total CPU usage to 50%; and that is what most likely causes the fps drop.

    I am not a computer person but I did some CPU temp tests and they don't seem to go over 80-85 degrees (celsius) when playing the game, the GPU usage is at around 40-50% and RAM at ~90%.

    The laptop is also plugged in to power and power settings are set to "high performance".

    Does any of you have any idea what might cause the fps drops and possibly how to fix it?

    With 64 player servers both those maps are just terrible. Why people enjoy games of just blasting away and lobbing explosives non stop through blind smoke filled doorways is beyond me. One hour games of stalemates without any point captures are not fun. Those maps are so much better with 48/32 player counts. Unfortunately, I think there is only one server running metro at 48 players on PC now, no small locker severs I think. But we have multiple 64 player servers for each one.......??????

    Chainlink / MPX

    For us US based PC guys, is there even a server running Chainlink so that we can get the MPX? I have been looking, but the only one I've found is based in Germany, with ping being too high for reasonable gameplay. If anybody knows anything, that would be great!

    Has anyone else been getting bad lag lately? The past week it has been awful and i only seem to be having this issue on battlefield 4. Doesn't matter if the ping is good or bad in a server. I'm in the north east also.

    Can't kill BF4.exe, "Access is denied"

    OK, so this issue is driving me nuts. Let me go ahead and say that I just, as in two days ago, formatted my drives and reinstalled Windows 10 fresh as well as Origin and BF4. I am a computer enthusiast, a techie, and working on them for a living so I know what I am doing.

    I went out of town a few weeks ago for work. When I came back Win10 had an update which was no surprise. After said update BF4 began crashing, as in I would launch it and the screen would freeze as soon as I got into the game or even on the map loading screen. The image was frozen and I could not get "under" it to get to any open programs. BF4.exe remained in TaskManager and would not let me kill it, said access is denied. I would have to shut my system down to get out of it but even that was messed up in that everything shut down but my system stayed powered up, forcing me to kill it via the power button. I eventually figured out that the update was to blame and removed and blocked the updates. Once I did this I could play... but when I exited BF4.exe stayed up and hung my system on shutdown.

    Now that I have reinstalled EVERYTHING from scratch this crap is still messing up. Tonight a round of gun master started and I had no weapon or knife so I tried to exit the game and it hung up on the black screen. I was able to kill that but BF4.exe was still there and still hung my system up on shutdown. I tried to repair the game and it stops at 2% with 713.63MB of 32.41GB downloaded. I exited Origin and then found it still in TM, when I tried to kill it I got access is denied. And, yes, it hung my system on reboot. I have it trying to repair again and it has stopped in exactly the same place and is still sitting there.

    So... anyone have any ideas or have run into this before?
