[BF1] Bug report for chat, not sure where else to post this

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:47 AM PDT

So, I operate a Win10, with azerty keyboard, and noticed that typing '%' (without quotes) will lock up the game, making me unable to type, end the chat in any way or even respawn.

    Keycombination is shift+%key

E: I've waited it out, got kicked from the game for being idle and then realised I could not interact with any part of the game anymore, including main menu.

[BFV] Should I get BFV if I can find it cheap?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:09 AM PDT

Is BFV fun and engaging enough for me to buy it? Do you have any opinions on the game or any knowledge of cheap sales of the game? Should I get the DLC/Deluxe Edition?

Xbox One only. Played BF1 and loved it. Wanted to get BFV for the WWII experience, but found lots of negative reviews. Wondered if people who've played the game for a while had other view on it.

[BF1] A interesting quote for you all from my post on BF1 reddit

    CuddlyKitty1488

Dunning Kruger effect, RBD Fake News and general idiocy.

Long story short, they're too casual for BF1. People will say that spread is casual and random, but if you know anything about mathematics and probability, you will know that the inverse is the case, I could go on for an hour as for the reasons of this, suffice to say, that BF1 has a much higher barrier of entry for gunplay compared to previous and the subsequent title, with heavy punishment for spraying full auto weapons at long range and a heavy bias towards proper burst patterns. It also incorporates suppression pretty heavily, which I personally do not like and I think is the only serious flaw the game has; anyway, people are mad that they can't hit their targets in BF1 with an SMG at 100 meters.
Look at BFV, the diametric opposite of BF1 in terms of gunlay, guns have little recoil and spread is now entirely removed (the spread formula is still in the game, but now spread is instead applied to the recoil pattern). BFV is very easy and boring in my opinion, every weapon is a laserbeam with barely any recoil and a very low skill ceiling, plus a faster TTK and heavy bias towards the assault class.

People loved BF3/4 with its easy Assault Rifle spray meta. Point, click, pull down a bit. Good enough. There was a high skill ceiling to being very good with assault rifles in BF3/4, however, the skill floor was pretty high, which meant that most mediocre players could still get relatively good results.
BF1 turned that around, BF1 will punish you VERY heavily for not using weapons correctly, while it will immensely reward you if you use them well. Case in point, BF1 has some of the most unique weapons the franchise has seen, like the Model 8 .35 and the RSC, both semi auto, high skill, high risk and high reward weapons.
The RSC has a 2btk up to 70m to the chest at 180rpm, it also has heavy recoil, only six bullets in the mag and is severely punished by suppression.
How do you think the average AEK tard felt when trying to use the top tier guns in BF1?
Simply put, it was a much higher barrier of entry to success.

The reason why the worst medic rifle the 1907 Sweeper was so popular was because MUH FULL AUTO, even though the 1907 Sweeper was literally worse than the Factory or Trench variants in EVERY WAY except 0.1 less vertical recoil. The 1907 Factory when fired properly can destroy people at very long ranges, you'd be surprised. But your average tard will NEVER know that, because they just want their full auto spray hose, and want to hold down M1 at enemies at 100m and get free kills, which BF1 will not let you do.

I have personally enjoyed the best distinction between bad, mediocre and good players in the franchise in BF1, in this game it was so easy to dominate pub lobbies if you knew how to play, doing 50 killstreaks with the RSC/Model 8 .35 was daily occurence for me and my friends who are also good at the gmae, and we had a blast every single day.
Meanwhile, the casuals/idiots/dunning krugers were too obtuse to understand spread, unwilling to adapt or simply too stupid to understand it.

TL;DR BF1s gunplay and gameplay designs were too high IQ for the average BF tard, and DICE listened to those tards when making BFV, and look what we ended up with.

Good luck trying to make anyone who hates BF1 understand this.

[BF1] how can I change the plane’s controls?

    Posted: 06 Oct 2019 11:23 AM PDT

I like the controls for the plane in the single player campaign (friends in high places) where you just move the joystick to move left or right rather than the default scheme. How can I change the settings to do this in multiplayer?

[Other]Dice should make a Battlefield style MMO similar to planetside 2

    Posted: 06 Oct 2019 10:30 AM PDT

I love Battlefield as a franchise, the first one I played was Bad Company 2, and I have played every one since, but I feel that recently theyve become more about small fast paced close quarters battles rather than the open world team based games I used to love. Now I used to play planetside 2 alot on PC a few years back and it absolutely nailed massive open world warfare and the level of teamwork was out of this world, but the space aesthetic is not for everyone. Which got me thinking wouldn't it be cool to have the same type of game essentially with a BF style theme to it? Say, Russia, USA, and China, all fighting on a huge persistent map with ever changing front lines. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I just wanted to put it out there.
